The £1.6 billion government cladding remediation scheme was announced in March 2020. The project involves funding the replacement of all unsafe cladding on private residential developments across the UK.
The billion pound project was introduced to help and encourage private developments to comply with new cladding regulations following the horrific disaster of Grenfell Tower.
The government scheme will now ensure all residential buildings across the UK are fully compliant with new cladding rules.
Following the government announcement, X1 The Exchange has become one of the first developments in the UK to get funding for the Government Cladding Remediation Fund!
This means that all the external cladding currently on X1 The Exchange will be replaced with brand new cladding which is complaint with new safety regulations.
We are delighted to see this process has already started and we are currently on Week 6 of the cladding replacement process.
The works are estimated to take around 52 weeks however we are already seeing fantastic progress!
